SWING-OUT

Features

If you need a retractable 360 degrees steerable thruster which is to be used as auxiliary propulsion and there is limited height available, then a Swing Out may be of interest to you. These can be folded fully flat inside the ship, ensuring a low construction profile.

The Veth Swing Out uses components from the Veth standard azimuth thruster range and can be hydraulically lowered out of the vessel’s hull and can be steered limitlessly through 360 degrees once it has reached the fully folded out position.

The Veth Swing Out is particularly advantageous for mega yachts. The retractability of the Veth Swing Out has enormous benefits for large vessels in particular. This auxiliary propulsion system significantly increases vessel manoeuvrability and the vessel can be steered more precisely when entering and leaving port. Retracting the auxiliary propulsion units once they are no longer needed, and when cruising in the open sea, is beneficial with regard to speed, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

Cooperative designing

When designing the Veth Swing Out, we look at the available space and its possibilities. The Veth Swing Out is integrated into the vessel’s structure and you can count on the pro-activity of Veth Propulsion to find together the best solution to integrate it into the lines plan of your vessel. The Veth Swing Out becomes part of the ship’s structure and thus takes up as little space as possible. The basic structure is built in-house and customized according to your wishes.
