Veth Tunnel Thruster

Introducing the Veth Tunnel Thruster

The Veth Tunnel thruster stands as a testament to traditional bow and stern thruster excellence, offering maximum thrust capability to both Port and Starboard sides. Available in a variety of configurations to suit diverse marine needs, this thruster ensures unparalleled maneuverability and control in any situation.

Choose from multiple options to tailor the Veth Tunnel thruster to your vessel’s specifications:

  • Aluminum Tunnel: Ideal for aluminum vessels, this version features a steel gear unit housed within an aluminum tunnel, preventing premature corrosion and ensuring long-lasting performance.
  • Flexible Mounted Tunnel: Engineered for reduced noise and vibration levels, the flexible mounted tunnel thruster enhances crew and passenger comfort. Suspended within an outer tunnel, this design dampens vibrations and allows access without dry docking.
  • Veth Elbow Thruster: Compact yet powerful, this smaller tunnel thruster offers cost-effective operation and low maintenance without the need for a gearbox.
  • Retractable Tunnel Thruster: Versatile and multifunctional, the retractable tunnel thruster serves as both a conventional tunnel thruster during mooring and a 360° steerable thruster for dynamic positioning systems or emergency propulsion.
  • Active Noise Suppression System: Optionally equipped with an Active Noise Suppression system utilizing air injection, the thruster minimizes noise caused by cavitation, ensuring a quieter onboard experience.
  • Horizontal Installation: Horizontal versions of the VT-50 and VT-90 Tunnel Thrusters are available, allowing for installation in vessels with limited vertical space.

Experience unparalleled maneuverability and control with the Veth Tunnel thruster – where innovation meets tradition to redefine marine propulsion excellence.

Drive options
  • Hydraulic driven
  • Electric driven

Whether you prefer the efficiency of electric power or the robust performance of hydraulic systems, our thruster ensures optimal maneuverability and control for your vessel. Choose the drive option that best suits your needs and embark on smoother, more efficient sailing with our technology.

Advantages of the Veth Tunnel Thruster
  • Optimal thrust
  • Your ship design serves as the basis
  • Optimum efficiency and minimal cavitation through streamlined tailpiece
Operation

Discover enhanced performance and reduced noise levels with the Veth Tunnel Thruster, featuring a streamlined right-angle gearbox and propeller mounted within the tunnel. Powered by a vertically mounted electric or hydraulic motor, this thruster provides dual-directional drive for seamless maneuvering both port and starboard.

Trusted by vessels worldwide, the Veth range of tunnel thrusters ensures optimal performance across diverse marine applications.

For those seeking to further minimize noise, our Active Noise Suppression (ANS) system offers an innovative solution. By injecting compressed air into the tunnel ahead of the propeller’s flow direction, cavitation effects are minimized, resulting in a quieter onboard experience.

Experience noise reduction of up to 10 dB with Active Noise Suppression, effectively reducing cavitation damage and enhancing comfort for crew and passengers alike. Available for new installations or retrofitting existing units, this cost-effective solution is compatible with virtually all sizes of Veth tunnel thrusters.

Optimize operation and reduce noise levels with Veth Tunnel Thruster technology – where innovation meets reliability to elevate your maritime experience.

Ballast Pump

Are you looking for a pump that pumps large amounts of (ballast) water with minimal power? Then the Veth Ballast Pump is a good solution for you.

This pump, developed by Veth Propulsion, can be used in two directions of rotation. Unique in this application is that the piping is reduced to an absolute minimum.

With any bow thruster you have the option to order a ballast pump to go with it.

Advantages of the Ballast Pump

  • With little power, large amounts of water displacement
  • Robust yet compact
  • Oil-lubricated propeller shaft
  • High quality seals
  • Easy to assemble and disassemble
  • Great ease of use
  • In-house engineering
