100 YEARS
In 1918, P.H. Batten, and his partners introduced the first twin disc clutch for farm tractors. Since that beginning, the company he founded, Twin Disc, Inc., has grown into a world leader in power transmission technology.
Our motto is “We put horsepower to work,” but for generations we’ve helped put hometown of Racine, Wisconsin, to work, too. Over the years, we’ve grown into an international company with subsidiaries and offices around the globe.
Twin Disc has blazed a trail of innovation through the years, diversifying far beyond products for simple agricultural applications. From enhancing the performance of early farm tractors, road building and construction equipment, to marine transmissions on Higgins landing craft in WWII, to post-war industrial development of the free world, we have developed an outstanding reputation for quality and reliability.
Twin Disc is preparing a series of local, national and international events and promotions to celebrate its 100th anniversary this year, including an international distributor meeting at our corporate headquarters. Twin Disc will also be celebrating at local Racine events including the Lighthouse Run, Independence Day Parade, and the WKLH Work Force Tour.
We’re also planning to open a new Heritage Gallery at our corporate headquarters give visitors a chance to see how integral Twin Disc products have been, both for the U.S. and the world, over the past 100 years.
