Veth Jet

Introducing the Veth Jet

The Veth Jet, introduced by Jan Veth in 1970, revolutionized marine propulsion by offering a versatile thruster capable of 360° operation in shallow waters. Since its inception, it has become a cornerstone in inland and maritime navigation, remaining a trusted choice across industries like shipping, dredging, and crane vessels. Known for its adaptability, durability, and reliability, the Veth Jet thrives in tough conditions, including dredging operations and offshore ventures, thanks to its ability to withstand heavy-duty use and operate optimally in demanding environments. Do you want to know which Veth Jet suits you best?

Drive options
  • Diesel engine drive
  • Electric motor drive
  • Vertical Electric motor drive
  • With gondola

The Veth Jet can be driven by a diesel engine or electric motor. The motor can be placed on one of the side channels. utilizing a ready-made engine foundation.

The Veth Jet is suitable for multiple applications and is available in several variants. If there is insufficient space for a horizontal drive electric motor, Then you can choose a vertical-drive unit.

A Veth Jet with gondola  is available if the hull design of your vessel is not suitable for a regular installation. It will be supplied complete with motor in a custom-made gondola, including  all necessary accessories.

Advantages of the Veth Jet
  • Optimum thrust at minimum draft
  • 360 degree steering capability
  • The 3 and 4 channel system can also be used as auxiliary propulsion or brake
  • High thrust; up to 11 kg per kW
  • Easy to install and requires minimal maintenance
  • Possibility to change propeller without (dry) docking
  • Design simplicity: propeller rotates in a single direction
  • No protruding parts under the surface
  • Fast steering time
  • No reverse clutch is required
  • Choice of ClassicLine and CrystalLine panels
Operation

At the core of the Veth Jet lies a brilliantly simple and remarkably effective principle, designed to operate with minimal intervention. Water is drawn in from beneath the vessel by a horizontal propeller, then smoothly redirected through a 90° bend via a 360° rotating drum before being guided through a channel.

Crafted entirely in-house, the Veth Jet, including its gearbox, embodies precision engineering and meticulous craftsmanship. Available in 2, 3, and 4 channel versions, each unit offers versatility for various marine applications. In emergencies or to aid vessel deceleration, the 3 and 4 channel units serve as dependable propulsion options.

In the 2-channel variant, control is streamlined with a single handle, akin to a tunnel thruster control, allowing continuous variation of the steering angle and diesel engine speed. Meanwhile, the 3- and 4-channel versions feature a combination steering and throttle handle, reminiscent of Z-Drive controls, facilitating seamless RPM adjustment and steering angle control.

Embrace the elegance of simplicity with the Veth Jet – where innovation meets reliability in marine propulsion.

Ballast Pump

Are you looking for a pump that pumps large amounts of (ballast) water with minimal power? Then the Veth Ballast Pump is a good solution for you.

This pump, developed by Veth Propulsion, can be used in two directions of rotation. Unique in this application is that the piping is reduced to an absolute minimum.

With any bow thruster you have the option to order a ballast pump to go with it.

Advantages of the Ballast Pump

  • With little power, large amounts of water displacement
  • Robust yet compact
  • Oil-lubricated propeller shaft
  • High quality seals
  • Easy to assemble and disassemble
  • Great ease of use
  • In-house engineering
